New Start

Taking another shot at blogging. It’s been awhile. New layout of course to start afresh. :)

So, on the note of new things. I have just gotten back (counting on two weeks now really) from a one month long trip. Not entirely for pleasure alone had to get down to business, but nonetheless I must admit it was quite what I needed, a break to stretch my wings.

Toronto was unexpectedly enjoyable this time around (considering school is out of the equation). Weather was fairly decent, can’t complain really, and it stayed that way  perfectly timed until only the few days before I was due to leave. Weirdly though, despite the years I’ve spent wishing I was anywhere else except there, three weeks went by in a flash and at the end of it I wish I had more time (…more time to eat chipotle and cheap korean food, lol.)

Though, really what’s the highlight of my trip? Without doubt, JYJ Concert in New York City. Yeah, that’s right. Road trip to NYC! Had to juggle with last minute planning, secrecy and tight scheduling for the adventure to happen, but it was all that much more epic.  We crammed what a  normal four/five day New York tour would be into a mere two days. It’s amazing what you could achieve whilst functioning on ‘tourist time’.

The ‘showcase’ was of course amazing, although short. Well that’s to be expected, considering it was… free ! Despite all the barriers and challenges, they did it truly for their fans. So, whilst I was willing to pay over $200USD a ticket to see them, things sometimes have a way of happening, and well… it all worked out rather nicely in the end. We spent our thirty-six somewhat hours in New York to the most that we could, stayed in an awesome hotel with the best staff there could’ve been, and managed to stuff down most of New York’s delicacies. Not bad for a weekend away.

Will be back with more updates from my trip soon. The part where I head to Japan might span a few posts though. Tokyo just leaves no survivors. :p
