Living Life by the Frames // 2pm Cafe in Shibuya

Watched through my videos of Japan tonight. It’s nice to see things blown up on an hd sreen (besides my face perhaps). Lol. Oh right! So, I’ve decided that my first investment of the year is going to be in buying a new Mac! Yeaah. Therefore, hopefully after I’ve transferred over all my files I’ll get to compile and make videos of my travels. Can’t wait! There’s one particular capture which I absolutely love ♥. Hopefully, it’ll brighten your day like it did mine. It’s amazing. Really showcases the wonderful Japanese work ethic. Lol. ;)

Anyways, continuing on with some photos I took whilst I was in Tokyo last month.

Went to Odaiba, to watch Kimi ni Todoke (君に届け). If I had more time to watch more movies that would’ve been ever so fab, but with a time crunch went off to get my cravings of ramen and chirashizushi, also stopped by Fuji Tv; they happened to be having a One Piece expo type thing going on.

Promotions from Matsuyama Kenichi’s Film, Norwegian Wood. ケンイチ!♥

Really cute omiyage, though my thoughts were all on ramen at the time to be honest. Lol.  ラーメン!

Loving the Christmas spirit, Lipton! Always appreciate good packaging. ♥

To make the most out of my second last day ventured over to meet a friend at Akiba after for…….. Hitsumabushi! A hungry man’s meal (or in some people’s case, a meal fit for almost any time of the day. Lol *inside joke*).

Apparently, according to my friend, there is such a thing as Chicken Hitsumabushi in Nagoya. Really?
本当だとしたら一回も食べてみたいなー。

Oversea express delivery please? (笑)

Happy and full, though the day didn’t end there quite just yet. There was still more crazy trekking in the rain to find my hotel for the last night, and even after we found it and we were beat, it didn’t end there. Back to Shibuya we went! Strolling the streets of Shibuya again. Found out 2pm happened to be doing a collaboration with Cafe Manduka whilst I was there and decided I might as well check it out. Heard the cafe was pretty good…

… and boy was it good! The decked out 2pm decor was rather cool, though to be honest I’m not a huge fan of theirs, so it didn’t play any factor on my decision that this cafe is still absolutely awesome! Except maybe that I love how they have connections to be able to do all these different collaborations, pretty cool I say. :)

Without further ado.

2pm welcomes you to Cafe Manduka☆

(They were playing 2pm songs all night)

We had too much fun… and too many random drink trials.
The chocolate oreo looking one unfortunately didn’t taste so good.

Pressed the shutter too soon. Dork face. Haha.

Tiny but this salad tasted great. Avocado Salmon Salad with Mentaiko Dressing.

Leaving the rainy Shibuya after a long day out. Off to catch the last train.

That concludes my post today. Got to rise up fresh and early tomorrow. Goodnight!

お休みなさい♥

Twenty-Eleven.

Happy New Year All!

Out with the old and in with the new, the better and improved. ^ ^

… And by out with the old, boy do I mean it. Fifteen minutes after countdown my Mum rang me up and told me that they had just gotten back home and found our house in an utter mess. We’d been broken into! o_o! Well, since it happened technically on the thirty-first it didn’t exactly mark the new year, thankfully, but anyway there went my Dad’s expensive brand name watch which that darn daft thief is probably cracking up joyfully at his own luck and can now pay months of rent. Seriously, what’s with these boring 1980s home security options that I find on google. We’re in the 21st century! People really need to get creative with our technology.  With all these ideas that I have, I could easily start a new revolutionary line of home security, think Home-Alone in the 21st Century featuring Fred and George Weasley. Lol.

Quite the unexpected post-new year countdown. Watched people from the CID (Criminal Investigation Department) dust for fingerprints all night till four/five in the morning, followed by the mandatory questionnaire and such. So whilst in previous years I’d stay up on New Years Eve/Day hanging out with friends/parties and all that crazy stuff. This year redefined my late nights. Quite eventful….. I suppose. I mean I did used to spend hours marathoning CSI episodes. >_>

Anyways, on a brighter note. 2010 had been quite the good year. Like I mentioned in my previous post, I bought a five-year diary and get to start using it now. yay! Summarized my 2010 into a page of crammed text and realised that it isn’t until I’ve written it all down that I really knew how much I’ve experienced over these past twelve months. Anyways, not to bore on the details.

By the way, I am in need of some new blog reads. Currently lacking content enough to sustain my daily reads. What are your favourite bloggers? If anyone has good pointers let me know.  :)

Christmas Tree Gingerbread. Snapped it before it got snow covered in icing.

So, Christmas this year was pretty great, after years of university-lifestyled-christmas-es it was nice to experience Christmas dinner hosted at my sister’s. Went away on Christmas Day. Our trip, although short, consisted a lot of good food finds. Which is sometimes hard to come by nowadays. Food that just hits the spot. Glad I found some just in time to conclude twenty-ten.  ♥

Perfectly crispy and juicy.

Softest/smoothest steamed egg stuff out there. I could have this again. :)

Interesting Tofu Soup/Stew.

Macau gave us something to keep warm. Freshly cooked stone pot rice.

And last but definitely not least. The highlight in fact.

These little mini-pineapple-custard-filled buns that were steaming hot and the best I’ve ever had were absolutely devine.

Chinese food continues to surprise me with it’s variety. I’ve met friends who’ve told me that they’re not a big fan of Chinese food because it’s oily. Well, actually I do concur. A lot of the crappy Chinese food goes on outside of Hong Kong/China/Taiwan. In terms of variety it’s rather minimal. As for oily-ness, yea that happens too, got to know where to go. So, I suppose if you’re up for really good Chinese food it’s got to be either on Chinese grounds (much like how Ramen is crap outside of Japan, imo.), it’s got to be recommended by a local (a picky local who knows their stuff), or alternatively you’ve got to cook it at home. Guess that goes for all cuisines though, doesn’t it? :p

Like hot dog’s recommended through How I met your Mother (Gray’s Papaya), doesn’t exactly count as reliable… right(?) It was not exactly, “high-quality hot dogs” as their wiki entry suggests. At three in the morning, it was quite the disappointment for me. If any New Yorkers happen to come across and read this whenever it may be, are there any actually good hot dog/pizza places? Thanks!

So, backtracking to some odd things we encountered on our trip. The thing above really caught our attention. It’s so stare-able. You can’t help but stare at it. Can anyone tell what that thing is? What is she holding? Is it some sort of headless teddy bear? A kidnapped teddy bear? A rhinestones adorned Hello Kitty?

Omg…. bag? How does she put stuff inside? ………. Again, what is she holding? Lol. This woman was standing around outside our hotel carrying this humongous glittering bear-purse. I’ve seen my fair share of wild poodle bags and such, but really I thought it looked like the bear had gotten kidnapped with a thing over it’s head and now it’s in custody of this woman and she’s taken it as her accessory.  *_*

Anyways… for the New Year, 2011, new resolutions, new changes. Hopefully, it will all be a good surprise. ♥

The first thing we ended up doing post-new year’s countdown (and before going home to the CID’s) was shopping. This hard working girl kept her store open despite it being New Year’s Eve. I guess that’s Asia for you. Something somewhere is always open. Guess that’s why Hong Kong deserves it’s title as Asia’s shopping capital. ♥

This was a long post. :p

Anyways, wish everyone all the best and happy new year once again.
